Services We Offer
The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.” In order to address the many factors that contribute to each patient’s unique definition of well-being, the Advantage Healthcare Systems professionals, who are skilled in all aspects of rehabilitation, work together as a team to ensure the best treatment possible.
Patients and their family members work together with our rehabilitation teams to improve functional learning techniques to manage activities of daily living and to identify ways to return to meaningful living. We believe that education is key to effective rehabilitation; our patients receive information as part of the rehabilitation processes such as:
- Medical diagnosis and its implications for functional ability
- Ways to compensate for impairments
- Ways to prevent further impairments
- Adaptation to changes in level of function
- Strategies for an active, healthy lifestyle
Our program philosophy and progressive clinical practices help our patients achieve their goals to increase quality and years of healthy life. Our patients are assisted with regaining independence, pursuing active, healthy lifestyles and resuming participation in community life.
Team members may include physicians (doctors of osteopathy and medical doctors), chiropractors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, licensed professional counselors, licensed social workers, case managers, vocational counselors, acupuncturists, personal trainers, and massage therapists.
Our facilities offer highly specialized outpatient rehabilitation services for a range of conditions, from hip fractures to joint replacements and chronic back pain.
Patients who are beyond the initial acute stage of modalities and strengthening may be candidates for work conditioning.
Our functional capacity exam involves a series of tests that measure physical strength, range of motion, stamina, and tolerance to functional activities, including lifting and carrying.
A physical performance exam may be requested by your referring physician as a stand-alone test or in conjunction with other services ordered to obtain a physical baseline to mark your progress.
The Advantage Healthcare Systems’ approach to pain and disability reflects the belief that work-related musculoskeletal disorders result from the interaction between environmental and individual factors.
At Advantage Healthcare Systems, treatment is a mental, physical, and emotional process of growth and development. Individuals attending individual counseling learn the current medical facts about their condition.
Biofeedback is used for the treatment of many common pain problems, most notably headache and back pain.
Impairment percentages or ratings developed by medical specialists are consensus-derived estimates that reflect the severity of the medical condition.
The primary focus of the Advantage Healthcare Systems’ program of care is on the needs of the injured worker. Work-related injuries often involve a behavioral component that requires treatment.
PT or rehabilitation is considered a conservative treatment method that addresses treating, healing, and preventing injuries and disabilities.
